The Case of the Missing Diaper

Even after two years of being a mama, I sometimes forget the basics. Like never leaving the house without ample suppy of diapers and wipes. Yes, even when you're just walking up the street to have a quick dinner. And yes, even when you JUST changed your son's dirty diaper.

So tonight, I regret that in my excitement to grab a drink and eat some food, we ran out of the house without a diaper bag. And while we were enjoying our appetizer and drinks, Parker refused to sit down in his high chair. A sign that he had to go. Now. And did he ever.

I was able to clean him up in the bathroom with relative ease, and in a drastic second error in judgment, I thought he'd be fine without a diaper for just a little longer. Which meant that when he had to the bathroom again, amidst running around the restaurant, a dropping trickled down his leg and onto the floor.

Oh, the horror. And Jeremy, who was located closest to the dropping at the time, just stared.

"PICK IT UP! BEFORE ANYONE SEES!" We were lucky to be seated near another family with two young kids who were also making quite a ruckus. So Parker's dropping went un-noticed by our fellow diners. And while Jeremy whisked Parker away for a second clean-up, I made friends with the family of twins. Luckily, they even had an extra diaper and wipes for us to "borrow." We swapped numbers, and we're going to meet up for a playdate next weekend.

Kind of a gross way to start the weekend, but all's well that ends well.
